The Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) Healthcare accelerates innovative technologies in the NHS and the wider health and social care system. It provides funding and support to early-stage projects enabling testing for business feasibility and technology development as well as to more mature products by supporting real world implementation studies.

SBRI Healthcare has now awarded funding to 329 startups, SMEs, charities, universities and NHS providers to develop, test and implement new evidence-led innovations to support unmet health and care needs. The impact of their innovations continues to scale to positively impact millions of patients across the UK and worldwide.

Last year alone it awarded £13.6 million of funding to 52 exciting innovations that support key priority areas for the NHS: Women's health, child health, urgent and emergency care, stroke, mental health, and the mitigation of antimicrobial resistance.

A full list of all the innovations the SBRI has funded can be found on their online Portfolio Directory, and you can read about their impact on the case studies page and in its annual reviews.
